
The Introduction to Inspecting and Testing training is a basic course for those who are just starting out in the electrical trade. As a three day course, it introduces you to areas such as electrical legislation and industry procedures for testing and inspecting basic installations and electrics.
As this is a basic course, it is most suited to a novice or those who have completed no formal training in electrics. It will provide a grounding which you can build on and study more advanced electrical qualifications.

This London located training course is a starter course for novices within the electrical trade. The course will take you through a number of subjects at a basic level, allowing an insight into the electrical installations trade. It will uncover details on how to test and inspect electrical installations in domestic properties.Â
The course is a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical tasks to help you gain confidence when working on installations. You will be taught about electrical industry legislation and the procedures of inspection and testing installations. Other important features, such as how to complete testing documentation including test certificates and an appreciation of the types of Electrical Test instruments used, will also be provided.Â
There is no formal examination with this course, however to achieve the Certificate of Competency learners must pass a number of practical assessments and written tests to prove their abilities.
A Certificate of Competency is achieved if all assessments are successfully completed throughout the course.
This basic electrician course lasts for three days.

There are no formal pre-requisites for this course, however if you are a novice to the electrical trade it is a good idea to have completed the Basic Electrics course before taking the Introduction to Basic Testing and Inspection. Most people who complete this course tend to do so alongside the Basic Electrics course.
This course is a great starting point for those who want to continue training for a career within the electrical sector. It is recommended that you follow this course with the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations as this is the industry standard for those who work in the electrical field. Once you have a 17th Edition qualification, you can then progress on to the Part P course which will allow you to register as a competent person and work as a Domestic Electrical Installer.
All learners on this Basic Inspection and Testing course are required to bring with them a current copy of the IEE Guidance Note 3. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the text prior to commencing the course.
