Part P Electrical Training Courses

The full electrician course North East, focusing on Part P, has been specifically designed to allow learners to develop an understanding of the skills and competency required for the completion of electrical installation work. Once a successful Part P qualified electrician has registered with the competent person scheme, they will then have the proof and backing of the industry needed to carry out domestic electrical installation work.

In order to be able to do this, all those wanting to complete a Part P course in Stockton on Tees must first complete the following units in their Part P training:

  • Applicable Building Regulations for Domestic Electrical Installation
  • Electrical Safety Legislation, Regulations, Standards and Terminology
  • Domestic Electrical Circuit Installation
  • Installing Domestic Lighting Circuits
  • Domestic Electrical Earthing and Bonding Requirements
  • Inspection, Testing and Commissioning Single Phase Domestic Electrical Circuits
  • Special Locations and Installations Including Kitchens
  • Domestic Electrical Installation Pre-Work Survey/Inspection
  • Basic Understanding of 3 Phase



Stockton on Tees Part P Examination

In order to achieve a pass in the Part P course, candidates must pass all eight training modules before successfully passing the 45 minute closed book examination.

 

Qualification Gained

All those who successfully complete the Part P assessments will receive a Part P certificate qualification.

 

Course Duration

The Part P course is six days long in total.
 

Who is the Part P course suitable for?

All electrical work carried out in domestic buildings must be carried out in compliance with building regulation legislation. Anyone who carries out electrical work as part of their job would benefit from a Part P qualification. People who may fall into this category are as follows:

What are the Pre-requisites for the Part P course?

It is not necessary for learners to posses any prior electrical qualifications, however it is important that candidates posses some basic electrical knowledge before attempting the Part P qualification.

Anyone successfully completing the Part P course will be able to continue to study for electrical qualifications at a higher level. These could include the following:

  • City & Guilds 2377 - 10 The Management of In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing)
  • City & Guilds 2377 - 20 The In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing)
  • City & Guilds 17th Edition 2382-12 Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • City & Guilds 2392 - 10 Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification
     

Part P Required Reading Material

All learners on Part P training should bring to the Stockton on Tees course a current copy of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and the IEE On Site Guide.
