Part P Electrical Training Courses

Part P training is an important part of electrical work and Part P courses London will show and teach candidates the skills and competency required to be able to carry out electrical installation work.

Once a learner has successfully achieved a Part P qualification, they will then be able to carry out domestic electrical installation work and self certify it once their competent person registration is in place.

All learners must first complete and pass the following Part P units:

  • Applicable Building Regulations for Domestic Electrical Installation
  • Electrical Safety Legislation, Regulations, Standards and Terminology
  • Domestic Electrical Circuit Installation
  • Installing Domestic Lighting Circuits
  • Domestic Electrical Earthing and Bonding Requirements
  • Inspection, Testing and Commissioning Single Phase Domestic Electrical Circuits
  • Special Locations and Installations Including Kitchens
  • Domestic Electrical Installation Pre-Work Survey/Inspection
  • Basic Understanding of 3 Phase

 

London Part P Examination

All those completing Part P courses must be able to pass all eight training modules before the final exam is carried out. This final assessment consists of a closed book paper of 45 minutes duration.

 

Qualification Gained

All candidates successfully passing the assessment will receive a certificate qualification in Full Scope VRQ Level 2 Part P from the Watford, London training centre.

Who is the Part P course suitable for?

Any type of electrical work carried out in a domestic building must be completed in compliance with the Building Regulation Legislation.

All those who complete electrical work as a part of their main trade should undertake a Part P qualification to ensure they are able to carry out this work to the correct industry standards.

  • Heating engineers
  • Loft conversion companies
  • Any person wishing to be able to self certify their electrical work, must first hold a Part P qualification.
     

What are the Pre-requisites for the Part P course?

Prior electrical training is not necessary for entry on the Part P course, however learners should have some basic electrical knowledge before studying for the Part P qualification.

 

What can I do after this course?

All those learners who pass the Part P course London will be able to move on to study further higher level course qualifications.

A learner could move on to study any of the following course qualifications:  

  • City & Guilds 2377 - 10 The Management of In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing)
  • City & Guilds 2377 - 20 The In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing)
  • City & Guilds 17th Edition 2382-12 Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • City & Guilds 2392 - 10 Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification.

Part P Required Reading Material

All those attending the Part P electrical course London should bring with them a copy of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and the IEE On Site Guide.
