Training and development for the electrical industry

Certificate in Building Regulations for Electrical Installers

Designed for electricians who want to register with a Competent Person scheme

In January 2005 Part P of the Building Regulations came into effect. To electrical installers this meant that from this date any work completed in dwellings must adhere to the Building Control Regulations.

The City & Guilds 2393-10 Building Regulations course for electrical installers is tailored to practising electricians and electrical installers who need to carry out work in domestic properties. It covers how any building work conducted as part of the installation work should meet the Building Controls. It outlines the procedures that electrical installers should work to and how to follow them.

For experienced electricians this qualification can allow you to go on and register with a nationally recognised Competent Person scheme.

There are five Competent Person schemes available in the UK which include; NAPIT, NICEIC, GAS Safe (formally Corgi) and ELECSA. You must apply to these independently.

If you are less experienced, the Part P for Domestic Installers course will be more suitable for you. If you are unsure or need help or advice, please do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our course advisors who will be happy to help.
